3M Defective Military Earplug Litigation
This Case involves:
Anyone who served in the military from 2003 to 2015 and used the 3M dual ended Combat Arms Earplugs and have sustained hearing loss as a result. Any private citizen who purchased 3M dual ended Combat Arms Earplugs and used them in a high noise environment and have sustained hearing loss or tinnitus. Recent Settlement: 3M settled a whistleblower lawsuit with the Federal Government for $9.1 million dollars because 3M sold allegedly defective ear plugs to the military and allegedly knew the plugs did not work and falsely claimed that the ear plugs met the standards set by the military. Earplug description: The earplugs were standard issues to certain branches of the military from 2003 to 2015. They were dual sided ear plugs with one side being yellow and the other side being green. The ear plugs were designed to offer two levels of protection. Once side you could still hear commands and talk and the other side was intended to block all noise. In the court documents they disclosed that the ear plugs were too short and did not fit correctly which caused the ear plugs to back out. This caused the person wearing them to be exposed to noises which damaged the ear and caused hearing loss or tinnitus.
